The optical fiber cable packaging was a project for the packaging company Solpac. The goal was to make the packaging low cost, compact – to fit inside the cables spool, and as a guidebook for installation. This last goal was achieved by dividing the connectors into floors, and groups. That way a technician could physically only start at one end and subsequently work his way through to the other. This made it physically impossible to install the unit in a false order.

The packaging was punched out of plastic laminated cardboard and consisted of only two unique parts. This greatly reduced production tool costs. These two parts where then folded and glued together, resulting in the final product.
